How it works
Booking a car — or putting yours to work — takes three steps on each side.
For renters
- 1Find a car nearby. Search your city and dates, filter by car type, transmission and price, and compare cars from real owners around you — from ₹1,200/day, or monthly from ₹45,000.
- 2Book & verify. Reserve in a few taps and complete a one-time KYC — Indian renters need a driving licence and Aadhaar; foreign visitors need an International Driving Permit, passport and visa. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.
- 3Drive. The host delivers to your door or the airport, hands over the keys, and you self-drive — comprehensive insurance covers the whole trip.
For hosts
- 1List your car free. Add your car in minutes with a few photos and documents, then set your own daily price and the dates it's available. Listing costs nothing.
- 2We verify renters & insure the trip. Every renter is KYC-verified before they drive, and comprehensive insurance covers every booking — so you hand over the keys with confidence.
- 3Earn weekly. An idle car can bring in up to ₹25,000/month. We handle bookings and payments, and your earnings land in regular weekly payouts.
Why peer-to-peer beats a rental fleet
A traditional rental company buys a fixed fleet and prices it to cover that overhead. A peer-to-peer marketplace doesn't — the cars already exist, owned by locals. It's the same shift Airbnb brought to hotels and Uber brought to taxis, applied to cars. Three things change for the better:
1. More choice
A fleet only stocks a handful of models in bulk. A marketplace of local owners gives you everything from a city hatchback to a 7-seater SUV to a premium sedan — so you pick the exact car, year and transmission your trip needs, not "whatever the fleet has left".
2. Keener pricing
Owners aren't carrying the cost of a depot, lot and idle fleet, so prices are often sharper than a rental counter — from ₹1,200/day for short trips, and monthly hires from ₹45,000 for longer stays. You see the all-in price before you book.
3. Doorstep delivery & local owners
No queue at a rental desk: your host can drop the car at your home or the airport and meet you there. And the money goes to a neighbour earning from an idle car rather than a faceless fleet — BaeCars verifies both sides (KYC for hosts and renters), insures every trip, and keeps ratings on both ends, so trust is built in.
Trust & safety on both sides
Every host and every renter is KYC-verified before a trip begins, so you always know who you're dealing with. Comprehensive insurance covers every single trip, and payments run through secure online checkout — no cash changing hands at handover. After each booking both the host and the renter leave a rating, so the community holds itself to a standard and you can see who you're driving with, or renting to, before you confirm.
Peer-to-peer car rental — FAQ
What is peer-to-peer car rental?
It lets you rent a car directly from a verified local owner instead of a company fleet — like Airbnb, but for cars. You book a self-drive car from a local host, who can deliver it to your door, with insurance included.
Is BaeCars the "Airbnb for cars" in India?
Yes — owners list their cars, travellers rent them self-drive, both sides are verified and every trip is insured. Same idea as Airbnb, applied to cars.
How do I earn money from my car?
List it free on BaeCars and earn up to ₹25,000/month. You set price and availability; we verify renters, insure every trip, and handle bookings and payouts.
Is it safe to rent from a local owner?
Yes — every host and renter is KYC-verified, every car carries comprehensive insurance, and both sides leave ratings after each trip.
How is BaeCars different from Zoomcar or Revv?
Those run their own company fleets; BaeCars is a peer-to-peer marketplace, so every car belongs to a verified local owner. That means more choice of cars, often keener pricing, and a host who can deliver to your door or the airport — with comprehensive insurance and KYC on both sides on every trip.
Is my car safe if I list it for rent?
Yes. Every renter is KYC-verified before they can drive, and comprehensive insurance covers each trip. You set your own price and availability, both sides rate each other after the booking, and your earnings arrive in regular weekly payouts.
